East Lothian, Midlothian and Scottish Borders Councils

Orchard & Shipman were awarded three jointly procured contracts with East Lothian, Midlothian and Scottish Borders Councils in October 2007, for the procurement and management of Private Sector Leasing schemes in these three local authority areas.

Further to contract award, we were able to utilise our existing landlord database, staff and office premises in Edinburgh and begin procuring and subsequently managing properties. We have utilised remote working technology and practices to focus delivery of the service in tenants’ homes, something that has been received well by service users, particularly those in more remote rural locations.

Despite the challenges of procuring and managing properties over a large, predominantly rural, geographical area, we have been able to satisfy the needs of each local authority by procuring in specifically requested areas.
